Makeup, yall!

These are the makeup and hair items I've been using lately. They da best! ....so far.

Firstly, we will start with da hair. Since Ulta has a pretty fabulous sale going on for all prestige liter shampoos and conditioners, I took advantage and purchased the JOICO Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner. I LOVE IT!! As soon as I dried my hair, I could tell a major difference. Without using any product (including leave-in conditioner or mousse), my hair was instantly soft, shiny, and full-o-body!

Even though I didn't use any product on my hair after my shower, I will tell you two things that I usually use. The first is BED HEAD TIGI Masterpiece Massive Shine Hairspray. This hairspray really gives you fantastic hold, but doesn't feel heavy at all. It also smells SUPER good! I've used this one for a few years.
The second item is BED HEAD TIGI After Party Smoothing Cream for Silky, Shiny Healthy Looking Hair. I don't usually blow dry my hair, but when I do, if there's any frizz, I use a pump of this to zap em! It also smells yummy.

Nextly, I went to work on my ghost face. I started with:
BENEFIT "That Gal" Brightening Face Primer
BENEFIT "Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation" in Ivory
BENEFIT "Erase Paste" Under Eye Concealer and Brightener
TARTE "Clean Slate 360 Creaseless" Eye Primer

After my base, I used:
LORAC Blush in Flaunt
BENEFIT "One Hot Minute" Bronzer
STILA Set and Illuminate Powder

pre-eyes

Eyeballs:
SMASHBOX Cream Shadow in "Quartz"
BENEFIT "They're Real" Mascara
URBAN DECAY "24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil" in Perversion
REVLON "Brow Fantasy" in Dark Brown
ANASTASIA "Brow Highlighter" in Camille
Lips:
smells like peppermint!

Result!:

I received some more gratis from Ulta (the main perk of being an employee) last week. They're called "Swimmables" Eyeliners by CARGO. I got all 4 colors!!

Annnd...I got some sweet new polishes from:
ESSIE in "Sexy Divide"(purple) and "French Affair"(pink)

They're not perfect because I'm lazy

Alright, Already!

I'm back. So shut up. Last Friday I decided to skip work and take my man to the the Carnival at Carolina Beach that they have every summer. I have been wanting to go to this since the end of May donning some 40's or 20's wardrobe and hair/makeup. This was a last minute trip, so we'll have to work on the costume next time.
We ate at some bar/grill to kill some time until 7pm so we could have that Lavender Hour light for the pics.

We wanted to start out on something more tame and work our way up. We figured the sky wheel would be the tamest. It was the worstest!!

After that horrific experience (I had Final Destinationesque scenarios on loop in my mind) I decided to visit the Fun House.

We went on a couple more crazy rides, but alas, I had to take pity on my tummy. It was crying and pleading "no more, pleeeease!". So we purchased some tasty snow cones and ventured down to the shore to take some stills of my new music video.

After our amazing, sickly fun at Carolina Beach, we decided to leave the sunset and head to the ABC store so I could make some pretty girly drinks.
Fare thee well, Carolina Beach Carnival

Even though I'm not a drinker, I did want to make some pretty dranks I oogled over in this month's Cosmopolitan. Benjamin says I'm a pretty good bartender.

Vintage Items

Since Flashbax was closed a year ago, there's been a shortage of cool, authentic vintage clothing in the Wilmington area. I did find a little gem of a shop at "Alleycat's." Currently, they're located off Oleander Drive, behind Mellow Mushroom, although the owner told me that she's searching for a new space downtown.. I found 6 dresses, a shirt, a lovely jewelry box for my friend Jordan, and a cookbook for men from the 60s. Very humorous writing.

My new dresses:
The dress I'm wearing is one of my special finds, too.
Pip wanted to model my shirt
I've also become more interested in collecting vintage gloves; for the evening, day, etc. I purchased these two stunning pairs of gloves from "aMuse," a cute little shop downtown that sells vintage and vintage inspired clothing:

The little lines on my left hand are actually on my hand, not the glove. They're from eyeliners at work :) The gloves are in perfect condition.

I was also in the market for some sweet heels. I found them at Goodwill. 8 pairs for $34!!
